in Wimbledon and South London

A bespoke training service, supporting you with training your puppy to become a part of the family.

You’re already juggling a million things

You may be questioning if a getting puppy is the right decision for you and your family or wondering how you’re going to deal with everything that having a new puppy brings.

Puppy chewing, play biting your children, toilet training, socialising, and the big question having finally reclaimed sleep (mostly)…when will your puppy sleep through the night? The huge amount of information and well-meaning but confusing advice can feel overwhelming.

It absolutely doesn’t need to be. With some practical guidance, expert knowledge and a bespoke plan tailored to your unique family, children and unique puppy, I can help you with raising a happy sociable puppy that fits into family life and becomes a loving companion to your children.

Whether you’re just considering getting a puppy or have already welcomed your puppy into your family, the Family Puppy Training Service will guide the way.

My dog is so much happier!

“It was clear from the beginning that my schnauzer, Gretel, had a shy temperament and had a a fear of children. Lottie gave us a huge amount of her time and helped us through the next stage in Gretel’s training.  Most importantly, Lottie is not interested in quick fixes and I was really pleased that she addressed Gretel’s anxieties rather than just silencing her.  Now, at three, my dog is so much happier and her problems have gone.  Thank you Lottie.”

 Family Puppy Training
FAQs

  • I use only kind, reward-based training methods ensuring that they are practical, effective and based upon sound evidence. I will never use harsh handling, corrections, punishment or intimidation and the welfare of your puppy will always be paramount within our training sessions.

  • Having children involved in most sessions is in all honesty, a distraction for both a puppy and parents. I always want to leave you at the end of the session feeling armed with more knowledge and tools to work through the common puppy problems and enough practical training to be practising between sessions. As the adult you’re the one who is going to have to put most of the groundwork into the training so it’s important that we can stay focused and you learn the skills first and foremost so that you get the most out of all of our sessions.

  • Absolutely. I love working with owners and their dogs for the long term and I’m lucky enough to work with some clients who train just for fun continually. We can work on an ad-hoc basis, top up your skills through your dog’s life and I can continue to support you on your training journey as long as you want.

  • Absolutely not! The Puppy School group classes we run are for gentle obedience training in the presence of other puppies for just one hour a week for 6 weeks. We offer no “puppy party” style free-play in class as puppies do not learn good manners or social skills from other puppies. A key element of the tailored training we do will teach you how to socialise your puppy with older, well-mannered dogs who may be interested in meeting them whilst out on their daily walk.
